RV Checklists

RV Check lists can be a real lifesaver.

I know when we've sat in one place for a while, they help us remember everything we need to do to get ready to leave. For fun, we created a little "musical" video about lists, based on "A Little List" from Gilbert and Sullivan's "Mikado" You can check it out here: (and yes, we extend our apologies to G&S)

But seriously, they do help. And the biggest advice we can give you one a list, is find a template, and edit it to fit your needs. here's what we have on our departure list:

Exterior:
  • Disconnect Utilities
  • Water
  • Electric
  • Sewer
  • Propane Off
  • Steps up
  • Awnings stowed
  • Leveling Mats stowed
  • Baggage doors locked
  • Check fluids
  • Check air in tires

Interior:
  • Galley Cabinet doors and contents secured
  • Refriferator doors secured
  • Refrigerator turned off
  • Medicine Cabnet Door secured
  • Shower door locked
  • Pocket Door secured
  • Bedroom doors and drawers all secured
  • Curtains down
  • Wideshield curtain oopened and secured
  • Co-pilot window blinds open
  • Hotspot off and antenna stowed

Towing:
  • Connect tow bar to Jeep
  • Connect Safety Chains and Light cable
  • Set-up brake system
  • Check all lights and tow connections
As you can see, ours is customized to better fit our needs. For example, we don't list slides, because we don't have any. So have fun creating a checklist that works for you!

By the way, here's a couple other sites that may help you develop your check lists:

Mark Polk (RV Education 101 and RV University)
By the way...a huge shout out to Mark Polk and @RVEducation101. We learned A LOT from his channel!!!!

Campanda-They have a few different checklists

Hope this was helpful for you. Safe travels and who knows...As We Go, maybe someday we'll see you on the road!
